At this point I was still trying to understand what creates a successful thrown form. The pattern created by the glaze on the surface is the first sign of what would be come a hallmark of my work, complex and detailed textures interacting with a thrown form.

The swirling facets on this pitcher were created while the pitcher was still on the wheel. The real trick was creating a handle that reflected the same twisting and turning feel in the body of the pitcher. The handle was carefully pulled to create corners and grooves that reflected the pitchers shape.

This pitcher is an example of how far my work has progressed. The bulbous bottom is faceted and then accented with slip trailing.
